In the two weeks leading upto any festival or Sabbat, it is essential to prepare your temple space for the coming festivities. Yule is a lovely one to prepare for as the magic of Advent is in the Air and "Peace and Goodwill to all mankind" raeches the parts that other festival preparations need quite honestly. This emphasis of worship though Christian in emphasis is beholden to Yuletide and helps us remember all we have learnt from Our Ancestors at Samhain and brings a new feel to the year's cycle. As We shed those leaves from Our ephemeral tree we find ourselves looking towards the coming year with glee!
One way to cleanse a temple space in preparation for a Sabbat is to use oils on a burner. I have added a slight twist to this and kept the Wiccan pentagram strong in my heart for this little ritual I would like to share with you.
PENTAGRAM OIL BURNER RITUAL
Needed:
5 different oils to represent the Elements of the pentagram star.
In this ritual I chose the following oils:
EARTH - I chose GERANIUM as a way to bring balance to the earthly energies of my temple space.
SPIRIT- My personal favourite Magical Store is
Starchild and there they do a range of magical space aromas that enliven the senses and help you drift away to distant places in your mind's eye. The one I chose this time was called "AVALON MISTS" and has the most interesting and magical aroma of all the oils!! I envisioned travelling across the Lake to the Isle of Avalon Herself as I meditated upon the ritual.
FIRE - My personal favourite Element and I feel the most powerful of all the Elements in a blend. I have a new young baby in the home so for this I chose LAVENDER as the spirit of all the ritual oils blended. It will touch the ritual with a gentleness suitable for a child.
AIR - One of the most magical qualities to EUCALYPTUS oil is it's ability to calm arguments and the Mind. I felt this would aid meditation and help bring peace to the temple space in preparation for Yule.
WATER - All I could think of with this next oil was Holy water as I chose FRANKINCENSE. I felt this would add the perfect blessing to an otherwise perfect blend.
Light the burner and fill the pot with water. Add the oils one drop each as you envision the pentagram. keep the pentagram strong in your heart and mind. Sit quietly while the candle burns and let the aromas take you to a place of dreams!!
